Reggie Hubbard, founder of Active Peace Yoga, has stories to share: He has spent the past year building his online meditation, sound healing, and resilience trainings, all while recovering from a stroke and learning to care for himself in a completely new way. Prior to his work in the yogasphere, Reggie was a seasoned political strategist, working on the Bernie Sanders campaign, as a congressional liaison for MoveOn, and in many other high-profile positions over three decades. Reggie shares his journey with us, serving as an example of how we can continue to navigate all that life throws at us with a sense of resilience and purpose.
About Reggie Hubbard
Reggie Hubbard is a seasoned political strategist, community organizer, and mindfulness teacher dedicated to bridging the gap between activism and inner peace. Over the course of his career, he has worked on major political campaigns, including Kerry/Edwards 2004 and Bernie Sanders 2016. He also served as the Congressional Liaison and senior political strategist for MoveOn, where he managed relationships with Capitol Hill and mobilized grassroots movements.
After years of high-stakes political work, Reggie turned to yoga and meditation as a means of finding balance and resilience. What started as a personal practice soon became a calling, leading him to establish Active Peace Yoga. Through his teaching, he has guided members of Congress, progressive organizations, and activists in using mindfulness to navigate the pressures of their work. His approach emphasizes self-care as a revolutionary act, helping changemakers avoid burnout and stay engaged with purpose and clarity.
In addition to his political and wellness work, Reggie is a passionate sound healer, integrating vibrational therapy into his teachings to create profound states of relaxation and awareness. He has shared his insights on national platforms, advocating for a more compassionate approach to both politics and social justice. Whether in the halls of power or the yoga studio, Reggie continues to inspire others to find peace within while working toward meaningful change in the world.
